In an article written by the staff of Charles Poliquin.com we found that a review in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition stated that if you are trying to cut carbs by following the USDA recommendation of 300g/day – you could be eating too many carbs! The authors stated that the optimal goal for fat burning it to go for less than 50 grams of carbs per day – this will promote the production of ketones which will result in the body no longer rlying on glucose for its fuel source and it provides “significant metabolic benefits.” The article also suggest getting those 50 grams of carbs from your fruits and veggies such as: pomegranate and kiwi – also eliminate ALL grains both whole and processed.
